The LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing will once again offer the Leadership Scholars Academy™, which aims to provide a transformational learning experience that develops participants’ personal and professional leadership knowledge and skills that are critical to building and sustaining a high-performing organization.
The five-session Academy will take place in the School of Nursing Continuing Education Classroom on Feb. 10, March 3, March 17, April 21, and May 5, 2023. Through this program, participants will:
- Learn to better understand themselves and others
- Enhance and develop their leadership abilities
- Apply strategies to lead people and processes
- Learn and utilize evidence-based approaches to quality improvement, budget development and management
- Employ strategic thinking and decision-making in leadership practice, both for everyday operations and crisis/disaster situations
- Incorporate evidence-based approaches to create a culture of engagement and innovation
- Expand their abilities and effectiveness in teaching, coaching and mentoring
- Meet with a professional certified coach from the International Coaching Federation
The registration deadline for the Leadership Scholars Academy™ is Jan. 29, 2023, and only 40 seats are available. A participant fee of $2,000 will cover five days of instruction (and lunch) for 31 hours of Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) credit for registered nurses (RNs), as well as several assessment instruments, access to a leadership library and professional folios. Participants will be presented with certificates of completion and membership into the School of Nursing’s Leadership Scholars Academy™ on the last day.
