LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing Ranked Among Best in U.S.
The LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing has been ranked by Nursing Schools Almanac among the top 10 nursing schools in the nation. The School of Nursing was No. 10 in the United States, No. 5 among public nursing schools and No. 4 overall in the Southeast region.
School of Nursing Will Help Identify Hallmarks of Inclusive Learning Environments
The LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing joins a group of 50 nursing schools across the U.S. selected by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) for a national initiative designed to foster inclusive learning environments and build a more diverse nursing workforce, “Building a Culture of Belonging in Academic Nursing,” funded by Johnson & Johnson.
ACNM Meeting Returns to the School of Nursing
The School of Nursing hosted the Louisiana Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) meeting and workshops on July 30, 2022 – the first time the group has met in person since 2019. President of ACNM’s Louisiana Affiliate C. Shannon Pfingstag DNP, CNM, FACNM, Instructor of Clinical Nursing and Director of the Nurse-Midwifery Concentration, and Demetrice Smith, MN, FNP-C, CNM, Instructor of Clinical Nursing, presented at the meeting. ACNM sets the standard for excellence in midwifery education and practice in the United States.
Nursing Faculty Get Creative
In August 2022, School of Nursing faculty and staff enjoyed “Painting with a Twist – LSU style” Mindful Monday, hosted by the school’s Faculty and Staff Life Committee.
